Procedures for Purchasing

Our Proper Pointer puppies are $1,500.00 each unless noted otherwise. Your Proper Pointer will go home microchipped and will have been cared for with intensive care and socialization with other dogs as well as our family members. We have a great relationship with our vet and your puppy will have had (2) two vet checks along with tails docked and dew claws removed. They also will go home with their first round of vaccinations and at least three rounds of deworming with Pyrantel and Panacur that will give them protection across the whole spectrum of parasites.

 

If you decide that you are interested in one of our pups for your own,  and you have read and agreed to all the terms listed in the Health Guarantee & Contract, your next step would be making a deposit to secure your baby boy, girl or for some families; both  :)

 

Deposits/Payments

We accept PayPal, Venmo or Good Dog for deposits only. These platforms make it easy to place a non-refundable deposit using any major credit card or debit card. Once you have read and agreed to the terms listed in the Contract & Health Guarantee, Non-refundable Deposits are $500.00 + $15.00 PayPal fee and accepted on our puppies. Deposits are non-refundable, but transferable. Deposits are deducted from the full amount. The remaining balance of $1,000.00 will be due in CASH at pickup.

 

PayPal is a reputable and trusted company for the deposit procedure and is a secure transaction. You do not have to have a personal PayPal account to make a deposit.  An e-mail address is all that is needed to use PayPal services. PayPal will send my request to your e-mail with a link to pay by credit card so no credit card information is shared to the seller. You can also follow the PayPal link at the bottom of the page and it will send you to the PayPal website, then click the "Pay with Debit or Credit Card" tab and fill out your information.  Using PayPal and a credit card gives the buyer added proof of agreement and payment.

 

Selection Process

We understand that everyone wants to have the first pick of the litter, but obviously everyone can't have first choice, therefore, we have developed a waiting list. This selection process is based upon the order in which we receive your deposit and puts you in line to make your selection. Once we start receiving deposits we will place you on our waiting list; the first to place a deposit will have first choice, the second will have the second choice and so on... However, your Proper Pointer will be chosen no sooner than 3 weeks of age. We wait until the 3 week mark for selecting the puppy because German Shorthaired Pointers develop into their markings and may change within the first few weeks/months. Therefore, you will have a better understanding of what your Proper Pointer's markings will look like. We cannot guarantee what markings will develop into as the puppy grows.

Unfortunately, we do not have home visits for the selection process. The puppies are very vulnerable and susceptible to diseases especially the Parvo virus at 3 weeks of age and they will not receive their first round of vaccinations until 6 weeks. We have heard horror stories of someone unknowingly bringing in the virus and killing and entire litter of puppies. Therefore, we cannot take that risk. We will do FaceTime, extensive videos and detailed pics for your selection process. 

Once the deposit has been made and you have chosen your puppy, you will enjoy getting to know the puppies through weekly pictures and some video clips on Proper Pointers FaceBook page and on Instagram. Before you know it, you will be picking up your little bundle of joy! 

 

Extended Stay

Puppies leave for their new homes @ 8 weeks of age. However, if you were to need your puppy to stay longer, that option is available for $30 a night and any/all vet fees for vaccinations to remain on schedule.

 

Delivery Within Driving Distance

If delivery is needed, please contact us with details and we may try to work out an appointed location within reason if it is a viable option or we may consider farther locations for an appropriate. This option is on an individual basis and may not be available at all times and for all situations.  However, we are willing to help in any way we can.

 

Pet Shipping

We no longer offer the option to “ship” your pet to you. However, we will meet you at the Greenville Spartanburg Airport airport in Greenville, SC for no charge. However, a boarding fee may apply to accommodate flight schedules. (*See above Extended Stay policy) We will also meet at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, NC and the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta, GA for a travel fee of $250.00. You will be responsible for your airfare to these locations. You are allowed to travel with your Proper Pointer in the cabin with you on the airplane.
